Just when we thought it’s gonna end soon.
After months of tension, SM Entertainment finally released a tough statement on June 13th, “Contract of Hangeng has not yet been terminated, he’s still under SME. All the activities of Hangeng had to yet undergo SME’s permission and authorization.”
These very words only say that Super Junior’s Hangeng is not yet been released from SME. Although he has been seen with numerous accounts on his whereabouts in USA and China, Hangeng’s future has never been certain until his latest appearance in Beijing on June 11th.
He shared that, “In Korea, artistes terminating their contracts are very common, if that artiste is a solo artiste, the termination just needs to go through the necessary procedures to complete, but it is more sensitive if that artiste is in a group, as he/she not only needs to face the company, but also the fans and members who make up the group who have been together for many years.”
Moreover, Hangeng added that his top priority right now is his career and the promotion of the Asian Games in China. The court case against SME has already been given to his lawyers for settlement.
Aside from music, he also expressed his interest in acting especially, with Jackie Chan in a martial arts film. “If I can act in a movie, I hope to change my image and act as an unusual character, even if I have to shave my head bald or act as an ugly person,” the Stage of Youth lead actor said.
However, with SME’s latest statement, looks like they will not let Hangeng out of their hands that easily. As good spectators, let us all hope for the best out of this uncertain situation. Fortunately, one thing’s certain – Hangeng fans will always be there to support him in whatever journey he will partake.
